Currently, we offer various equipment for administering the local anaesthesia, thanks to which the medical procedure is not unpleasant. The simplest are carpoule, which do not even resemble needles and syringes. In addition, they are fitted with extremely thin needles, which make injection significantly less uncomfortable. Children like nice colourful things, which remind them of their favourite cartoons. This is why, in order to reduce stress of little patients, MOTO-MED uses masking overlays on carpoule, so-called “crocodiles”. Prior to injection, special anaesthetic gel is applied onto the kid’s gums at the injection point.
More and more frequently used are apparatus for computer-assisted anaesthesia. Here, besides having what appears to be a very thin pen with a needle, the dentist can control the speed of application of the anaesthetic. Thanks to this, the anaesthetic is distributed to the body tissues slower. The benefits of this are twofold. Firstly, the physiological rate of supply and distribution of anaesthetic lets the patient avoid pain. Secondly, usually immediately after administering the first drops of the drug, the gums and then the tooth are desensitized.
